Dr. Selen Ünlüoğlu studied Social and Political Sciences at Sabancı University where she received her BA degree in 2005 as an honor student. She earned an MBA from Sabancı University in 2007 with high honors. She was an exchange student at Warrington School of Business of the University of Florida in 2006. In October 2007 she started her PhD in Management Learning and Leadership at Lancaster University, United Kingdom and received her PhD degree in November 2011 with her thesis studying the role of organizational learningmechansims in developing innovative capabilities in Turkish SMEs. She was awarded several grants and awards for her PhD research including a grant from The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK) in 2007, Lancaster University Management School Research Scholarship in 2007, and Overseas Research Students Awards in 2008. She taught several introductory management courses for undergraduate and masters’ students at Lancaster University Management School. In addition, she acted as module instructor in an EU project realized with the partnership of Ege University and Italian Ministry of Labor aiming for the development of management knowledge across SME owners residing in Izmir. She taught varios management courses as a visiting lecturer at Izmir University of Economics between 2010 - 2012. She is a lecturer in the Business Administration Deparment at Izmir University of Economics since the academic year 2012-2013.
